The Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch
The Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch (WWAR) is being built to inspire injured veterans of all conflicts to get OUT and Active in a safe and supportive environment.
The Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch and Park was founded in 2013 by Wounded Warrior Mike DeLancey, a Pinaellas Park resident, who himself was critically injured in a sniper attack during military combat in Iraq and has confronted his own life changing inquiries.
The Ranch and Park will offer activities for all Military Veterans in need of a supportive and healing environment; to give them a new sense of hope, resilience and inspiration as they move forward in their journey at NO cost to them, their families, or their caregivers. .The Park will be the 1st purpose built fully ADA Accessible facility in the area with a high focus on wheelchair users.
The Park will be home to the WWAR HQ, a safe environment for Veterans and their caregivers to enjoy a variety of recreational activities and a resource to gather information on local Adaptive Active groups so they can find a sport or activity that they enjoy.
Help Build Our Park
Our Goal is to build our HQ. This building will be the central home for all veterans visiting the park with a large social space, storage for equipment and office, kitchen, and restroom facilities. The fully ADA accessible building will be able to offer Activity Classes including Yoga, Art, and a place to Connect with friends. The building will include a covered patio area overlooking the Park and Memorial gardens.
A perfect area for relaxing, shelter, and picnicking.
